    Kundecase: AVD på HCI Stack
    Earlier this year Microsoft released the GA version of Azure Virtual Desktop for Azure Stack HCI after a historically long Tech Preview period. When Microsoft also just released a brand new build of Azure Stack HCI (23H2), things were getting interesting when we tried to deploy this combination for a Norwegian public customer. We share our pros and cons and experiences with this implementation as we believe this could be of public interest.

    The art of balancing Security and Usability
    In today's world, organizations face a constant challenge of balancing security and usability in IT systems. Security is essential to protect data, assets, and reputation from cyber threats, but it can also impose restrictions and limitations on the users, affecting their productivity, satisfaction, and performance.

    If the usability of application security features is weak, users will try to avoid or bypass them. However, if done correctly, security does not impact usability, on the contrary, usability increases security. This delicate equilibrium is particularly crucial in the realm of the Modern Workplace, where security protocols are paramount to safeguard sensitive data and systems. Unfortunately, when forming the Modern Workplace, organizations are often met by strict self-propelled security requirements. We, however, propose to aim to follow the usability trio principle, often referred to as the usability triangle:

    • Usability
    • Security
    • Manageability

    The tree areas are all equally important, despite security measures often getting the “most airtime” we have focus on usability, pursuing goals to meet and exceed productivity requirements as well as deliver on expectations for more personal computing on the devices in use.

    The art of balancing Windows Security and Usability, go headfirst into the intricate dynamics of the perpetual struggle between security and the pursuit of a great end-user experience.

    The focus of this presentation is to show how security does not have to be a hindrance to usability, but rather an enabler, and we will discuss the following objectives:

    • Explain the concept of security and usability and why it matters for both users and IT Professionals.
    • Identify the common pitfalls and challenges of designing secure systems that are also user-friendly.
    • Provide examples and Best Practices of how to balance security and usability in different scenarios and domains.
    • Demonstrate how usability can increase security by reducing user errors, increasing user satisfaction, and enhancing user trust.

    This session is for everyone working within the management sphere, whatever area within the usability trio you reside. All configurations, functional scripts and tools is freely available, and you will be able to start balancing Security and Usability right after the presentation.

    Breakout Session 1: Inbound Provisioning and Identity Governance with Microsoft Entra ID Governance and Workflows
    It all begins and ends with an Identity!

    Before the users and their devices can be managed, they need to be onboarded and provisioned with their user account. This is where Microsoft Entra Provisioning API and Lifecycle Workflows in Entra ID Governance enters the scene. By automating scenarios for Joiner, Mover and Leaver we can set up templates and tasks that for example automatically sends out a Temporary Access Pass for new hires which they can use for first time setting up their account and device to be securely managed! We can even implement custom tasks and extensions via Azure Logic Apps, that can trigger other APIs or even something you've built in Azure Functions! Learn how to use these lifecycle templates and customize tasks with serverless solutions in this awesome deep dive workshop where automation black belt Jan Vidar will share his best tips and tricks for implementing a successful Identity Governance that supports a seamless and automated user on- and offboarding!

    In this session, we will cover how LLM and Copilot work, we will go through how Copilot uses Graph Search APIs, how we can tweak and adjust the results that CoPilot gets from the search, and look at how we can connect third-party data sources into Copilot using Graph Data Connectors.

    We will also explore the other Copilot offerings how they differ and how to build custom bots using Copilot Studio.
