Session 1: Title: 10 Things in Active Directory That Can Mess Up Your Virtualization Efforts and How to Fix Them. Short title I use is just "10 Things in Active Directory". This session is based on Webster's experience in working with AD for over 15 years. This session explains the lessons Webster has learned from working on over 200 AD projects that can keep your AD working smoothly. Learn how the various components that make up Active Directory work together and how one misconfiguration can have negative effects for your users.
Session 2: Title: (re)Building Your Active Directory Your users, admins, and management are complaining about your active directory. Expert Carl Webster will address the following problems: an inconsistent user experience, out of control or unreliable group policies, and a painful admin experience due to unmanageable AD design and group policy design. Or in a worst case, your company does not own their root domain name and it must be renamed! How do you get out of these messes? By attending this session, you’ll find information on: What to do when you don't own the root AD domain name Options for (re)designing your AD How all the pieces and parts of AD work together Options for (re)designing specific Organizational Unit trees What to do when Group Policy is out of control Session Takeaway: You’ll see that there is a way out of your AD and GPO messes, learn design decisions and find out how all the pieces of AD interact.
Most of you probably know that both Citrix XenDesktop as well as XenApp are based on the Flex Management Architecture (FMA). But what is the FMA really? How is it build, which (main) components and services are involved and how do they all interact making it a more highly available and robust platform / architecture then the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) ever was? During this session I will try and answer all of these questions and also briefly discuss some of the ‘evolution’ the FMA has gone through coming from XenDesktop version 5.x to where it is today with XenDesktop 7.11 right around the corner.
In my first presentation / section - A deep(er) dive into the FlexCast Management Architecture - I talked about what the FMA is, it’s main components, how they interact, what happens during logon, enumeration, resource launch and so on. Throughout this presentation I would like to focus on troubleshooting the FMA. I will have a look at one or two of the most common logged customer cases over at Citrix Support and how to (hopefully) resolve them. I’ll highlight some specific tools, how we can best monitor and troubleshoot the 11 main FMA services, including a bunch general best practice troubleshoot methodologies, tips and tricks.
In this session will Mikael Modin guide us through the new features and changes of the latest version of XenApp and Xendesktop.
In this sessions we will take a walktrough of the new features in NetScaler 11 and doing safe upgrade from older versions and look closer into the features on Management and Analytics.
In this session we will take a deep dive into Storefront 3.6 and look at what possiblities which can be used to enhance the user experience, layout and configuration. The session will focus on advanced use of Storefront and also useful tips and tricks from the field
In this session we will go trough different authentication and access methods in Citrix such as ICA-Proxy Optimal Gateway Routing, AlwaysON VPN, DirectAccess, Clientless VPN, NetScaler Gateway Services Also how to implement different authentication methods such as SAML, Kerberos, Certificate, Federated Authentication Service, Azure AD Join and using SSO
It is (almost) never Citrix that is the problem! Monitoring only the Citrix enviroment is not enough to efficiently solve issues and be proactive! In this session we will go trough different monitoring tools and talking about pros/cons which have been implemented in a production enviroment. We will walktrough how ITG monitors their datacenter and which experiences have been made and how we can achive a "single pane of glass" towards your datacenter for all IT infrastructure and line of buisness applications
In this session we take a closer look at how to use PowerShell and how to use it in a Citrix enviroment to automate manual tasks.
